I’m very sad to see him go.

It is also very, very weird to me that the Democrats closed ranks with Bob Menendez after throwing Al Franken under the bus almost immediately for basically nothing.

This made me LOL several times. Is Santos too hot for Bravo to handle? Otherwise we'll see him with a podcast in the not-too-distant future.

“It seems you can be a gay Republican, or you can be a messy-bitch-who-lives-for-drama Republican, but being both at the same time remains a bridge too far for many conservatives. “

That photo is exactly how I want to remember Santos.

Santos made the classic SBF and Madoff mistake: He screwed with people who should have been natural allies.

Here’s the thing: nobody wanted Santos gone more than gay people, no matter what their politics. Most gay people worldwide still feel the pressure to live a lie; Santos making a sport out of that doesn’t help anyone.

I've been only a casual consumer of the news about Santos. Frankly, I didn't know he was gay until I read Josh's post. Today.

Maybe that means I need to be a better informed news consumer.

How does your theory apply to all the flaming liberal gay-loving House Democrats who voted to expel Santos?

much more straightforwardly, Democrats now have a chance to flip the seat in the upcoming special election—and they have a good shot at doing so. They'd never pass that up no matter how gay Santos is.

That’s a good point. Looks to me, this was a down and dirty impeachment, and a lot of Republicans wanted it, because they believed Santos was destroying the Republican Party. Can’t have that, but was okay with them to not dump Trump, who tried and still is trying to destroy America :-)

Now he’s criminal, even though he has not been convicted.

I’m sorry, but your theory just doesn’t wash with me.

Will definitely be watching if and how the House (and the media) deals with all of Andy Ogles as compared to Santos.
